WVU Alert: WVU Morgantown Campus in-person classes to start late Wednesday (Jan. 22)
In-person classes on the West Virginia University Morgantown Campus will begin later in the day for a second day Wednesday (Jan. 22) due to ongoing frigid temperatures and icy conditions.
On Wednesday, in-person classes will start at 10 a.m. All in-person classes prior to that time are canceled.
The late start is for on-campus classes only. All other on-campus operations will continue as scheduled. Employees should work with their supervisors to make any necessary adjustments.
“We ask our faculty members to allow some flexibility for students who may have to travel to get to campus,” Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Paul Kreider said.
As they have all week, Facilities ManagementRoads and Grounds crews are working to clear and treat campus roads, parking lots, sidewalks, stairs and other areas.
“The extra time in the morning and the milder temperatures that are in the forecast later in the day will help our crews as they address icy spots on campus,” said Charles “Chuck” Roberts, associate vice president of facilities operations.
WVU Health Sciences faculty, staff and students who work in patient care areas or in clinical rotations should check with their dean, program director or clinic manager.
University officials are continuing to closely monitor reports from the National Weather Service, as well as state, local and campus conditions.
Decisions regarding the WVU Tech and Potomac State College campuses are made separately based on local conditions. WVU Extension will follow its internal inclement weather policy, which can be found here.
The WVU Commuter Student Program offers a wide array of events throughout each semester. We offer free food, giveaways, engaging activities and an opportunity to meet other
