Notification Letters

When navigating absences and emergencies, students and faculty should be aware of the various institutional policies outlined for your convenience in our resource portal.

In extenuating circumstances like death of an immediate family member or hospitalization, when students are unable to communicate with their instructors, the Advocacy Center may be able to assist with Notification or Personal Traumatic Incident Letters.

Please note that our office does not "excuse" absences but will communicate to instructors for notification purposes only.

We instruct students to contact their faculty directly as soon as possible for information regarding missed classes and make-up work. Students will be reminded of course drop and withdrawal deadlines and may be referred to the Office of Accessibility Services for possible accommodations.

Please contact our office via email at Campuslife@mail.wvu.edu or by phone at 304-293-5611 with any questions.
