The Rental Move-In Checklist – A useful tool for students to document
the condition of their rental unit upon the move-in date. It’s a good idea to
use a digital camera to further record the condition of the apartment and its
furnishings, if any. Doing so could assist you in getting your damage deposit
back at the end of your lease period.
The Rental Move-Out Checklist – A companion piece to the Move-In Checklist
and should be filled out after you have removed your belongings from the rental
unit and have cleaned it per the instructions (if any) written into the lease.
Again, it’s a good idea to document the condition of the apartment, after cleaning,
with digital photos.
The Roommate Agreement form – This form can prove useful to set the
ground rules for roommates before moving in together. You can make any changes
or additions you like as long as all roommates agree; do this before you sign.
Upon completing the Roommate Agreement form, each roommate should keep a copy
in a safe place.
